Metal & Scrap

Scrap is the recyclable material left back after manufacturing various different products like cars, buildings, etc. Scrap metal is obtained from such locations and further taken to yards or processing units where it is further segregated into various different types of scrap metal. There are two types of Metal Scrap, Ferrous Scrap Metal and Non Ferrous Scrap Metal.

Macdows Energy deals in Ferrous Scrap Metals.

Ferrous Scrap Metals:

Heavy Melting Scrap(HMS)

Heavy Melting Scrap also commonly called HMS, is of two types, HMS 1 and HMS 2. Both Heavy Melting Scrap type 1 and 2 are iron and steel scrap which are generally heavy and are parts of dismantled or demolished structures or objects. HMS may include cut pipes, poles, ship plates, etc. The difference between HMS 1 and HMS 2 is that HMS 1 unlike HMS 2 does not contain blackened or galvanised steel.

Blue Steel

Blue Steel also commonly known as Fabrication Scrap are pieces that are produced in the process of manufacturing D bars and also include the cut pieces of various other units of structural steel, stampings, plates, forging, bloom, billets, etc. It is called blue steel because these pieces are defined as clean scrap in a layman's language and are blueish/greyish in colour.
